Finca San Mateo
Finca San Mateo is a private luxury coffee estate nestled in the mountains just 10 minutes from downtown Antigua Guatemala. As a private country home and a working plantation producing premium quality coffee, it is not generally open to the public.
Each year we host a limited number of intimate destination weddings, intentionally designed for couples who value presence, privacy and a deep connection to place. All celebrations at Finca San Mateo are scaled for up to one hundred guests and are full estate buyouts, allowing the exclusive use of the property.
Weddings at Finca San Mateo unfold slowly across the estate in clearly defined chapters, guided by architecture, landscape and rhythm of this unique property's coffee culture and high mountain setting.
Discerning couples can host and entertain their families or bridal party at the six-bedroom Hacienda while their guests arrive by luxury transportation from Antigua Guatemala at the estate's Gate Court, located at 1,900 meters above sea level.
Later they can exchange their vows at the estate's secluded and intimate country chapel and then celebrate with aperitivo cocktails and share alfresco dining in the spectacular Estate Courtyard, framed between the façade of the Hacienda and endless views over Antigua Guatemala's beautiful mountain and volcano landscape.

The Estate Gate Court
Finca San Mateo is located just ten minutes from downtown Antigua Guatemala. It is a sprawling mountain property with natural forests, gardens and — at 1,900 meters above sea level— volcanic soils and cool, dry winters, with one of the best coffee-growing terroirs in the world.
Guests arrive from Antigua in luxury coaches and are received at the estate's Gate Court, providing extraordinary views over the valley and Agua volcano. This moment is designed to mark the transition into the estate, a perfect blend of dramatic and rugged landscape, nature, architecture and luxury that epitomizes the unique allure of Antigua Guatemala.
The Estate Courtyard
The ceremonial and social heart of the estate, this formal space is set in the coffee drying courtyard.
Framed by the hacienda façade and its central staircase, with beautiful views to the forested valley and the volcano, it is perfect for aperitivo promenades, alfresco dinners, and gatherings.
Imagine a single long imperial table seating all guests for a candlelit celebration!
The Hacienda
Overlooking the courtyard, the Hacienda anchors the estate both architecturally and experientially. A select group of family or the bridal party may stay at the Hacienda and enjoy Finca San Mateo's five-star hospitality.
The Hacienda offers six ensuite bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a formal dining room and lounge. Housekeeping and breakfast are included.
The Hacienda is perfect for the bridal party to share special moments while getting ready for the celebration. They can later join the assembled guests in the courtyard through the elegant curved double staircase.
The Estate Chapel and Garden
Set apart in a quiet terrace garden, the estate's chapel (currently under construction) offers a timeless setting for transcendent moments in life.
Inspired by European country chapels, its proportions are intentionally modest. Intimate ceremonies for up to 30 guests take place in the candlelit interior space. Larger ceremonies are held in the garden, with the beautiful Renaissance style façade as a dramatic backdrop for the ceremony.

The Palladian Villa
Set in a separate area, the Palladian Villa is the manor home of the estate.
Modeled after the Renaissance villas in the Veneto region in Italy, it is a unique architectural statement perfectly integrated with its rugged surroundings.
Upon special arrangement, the manor is made available for unique photography sessions.
The Nest
An independent self-contained artist's loft is also available in the estate, with two ensuite bedrooms, kitchen and social areas, and a private terrace.
This space is ideal for guests and family, the groom's and best man's den, or as a private retreat space for the couple. It is also a great honeymoon cottage!
